Dry hire vs wet hire in Tasmania

Wet hire means the machine comes with an operator. Dry hire means you pick up (or we deliver) the machine and you run it yourself.

MEB Hire is dry hire only. That keeps the day rate down and suits owner-builders, landscapers and farmers who already know how to use a mini excavator or are happy to take it slow.

Dry hire from Pipers River makes sense when:

  • You have a 4WD and can tow a plant trailer

  • The job is a backyard, trench or small farm job around Launceston, Exeter, Scottsdale, Bridport or George Town

  • You want the machine for a day or a few days, not a full contracting crew

If you need an operator, you will want a wet-hire or contracting outfit instead. If you just need the digger, the Kanga or the trailer, call 0438 537 379 or enquire on mebhire.com.
